Y'know, this is a very touchy subject and every time I've tried to express
my own feelings, which are pretty much the same as yours, folks from all
over say that remark that makes one want to chew glass, or at the very
least, earn me a few bloody knuckles. IF it's on the net, it's their right
to download it and make copies. *sigh*
I think what you're doing is fine. If the watermarks were too obtrusive, I'd
say see if you can find a way to make 'em fainter, but I trust what you've
said. I'd kind of question the folks that are complaining.
Heck, isn't it that grey paper alone is a good preventative? I read that
somewhere but I can't recall where. Folks complained about that and yet I
thought it looked pretty cool, actually.
Do what you feel is right. The folks that really like your work? They'll
keep buying. Especially when they hear your reasons. Put a little disclaimer
note in each package if necessary saying something about the higher quality
paper *and* the watermark. One, in my opinion, easily balances out the
other.
