Your reasoning is perfectly sound. As long as the paper doesn't end up hurting the art directly by displaying colors badly or something physical, keep using it. Supply and demand is a fact of life in all areas, including art and fandoms. You like it, you pay for it, you get more down the line. Art will always be around, seeing it only depends on if you are willing to show support in the form of purchasing it to keep the artist with supplies. Congrats to you for finding a way to stem the flow of thievery.
