Okay, number 1, Do Not Back Down!

If the only way you can tell a difference between the two stocks is by a side-by-side comparison, then big deal. If the art isn't compromised because of it, that's okay by me!

I do have to wonder, though, the leeches who download your art for free probably wouldn't be buying it anyway, so if you look at it that way you're probably not really out a noticible amount of money. I'm sure (I'm hoping!) the vast majority of us would buy your art rather than download it -- think about it, in the long run it's probably cheaper than downloading it and printing it out for those who do print it out.

Now if you're like me, and I know I am, when I buy art I put it in a sheet protector and keep it in a binder. From what you're saying, by general flipping through, all you're going to see is art, paper shade notwithstanding.

And frankly, I love this idea!

So no worries, James, you're fighting the good fight!

Oh, and one criticism, you need to quit being such a nice guy. If you're not working the cost of your supplies into the cost of your portfolios and prints, you really should. Volume-wise it probably wouldn't up the cost of the final product significantly and your operating costs would be covered.

  Food fur thought!
