I rather like the idea of buying artwork as digital copies; it's a trend
that is becoming quite common with music, videos, etc. When I acquire a
original or print the first thing I do is scan it anyhow. What I would be
willing to pay would greatly depend on the format, DRM, and resolution. I've
bought a CD with artwork in PDF format that printed with watermarks. I can
promise he never got my business again. People like the freedom to view
there artwork how they want. There will always be people who will copy your
artwork and post it in the net, its unfortunate but punishing the legitimate
users who pay is unacceptable.
I do believe most people want to support the artists, you provide a great
service. However if you want $10 for a digital print very few will pay, and
in no time people will opt for downloading it free from p2p groups. On the
other hand offering a print at a lower price the majority would prefer to
pay and support the artist (no to mention avoided the guilt).
Hopefully this doesn't get mod'd flame-bait or trolling as I believe it's a
common view by people buying the art.

Out of curiosity, I wanted to know how much each of you would pay for a
digital copy of a print? I ask because I live with an artist who may
want to sell their works. But they want to sell it in a wierd method.
Digital copies you can keep and make backups of.
Piracy isn't an issue for them, but I imagine it would become a flaming
problem. Still.
What would you pay for a digital copy? 25 cents? A dollar?
