Interesting inclusion of monotremes (egg laying mammals;
Echidna and Platypus - plural of which is platypi) in the
list.

My opinions are very situation subjective; they change
depending on what I'm doing.

In regard to anthropomorphic creatures, I have a preference
on Vulpines, Lupines, Felines, Canines, Mustelids and
Mephitidaes.

In terms of pets, I like Vulpines, Rodents, Canines,
Felines and if I had the room, money etc, equines. Though
the Angora goats we had for a few year were fun too.

On a side issue, there has been declared a 'plague
proportion' number of 'vermin' in the area I am living at
the moment. Foxes are becoming a common siting (they are
not native to Australia) and are not just killing the
native animals, but becoming so bold as to going into
peoples' yards and killing their pets including cats and
small dogs.

For an interesting list of species genus, see:
http://1kai.dokkyomed.ac.jp/mammal/en/genus_list.html

And when it comes to practical, versatile, hard-wearing
species, why wouldn't I want to be a dragon? :-)

Scrapper, Black Dragon, works for me!
