True; I have noticed that if one is going to render an
image, so the shapes of colour and texture define the
outlines, then inking the outlines is often a hinderance,
since it puts sharp lines where they may not require them.
Toon style, inked lines are a wonderful thing.

Ah yes; nice to have skill and just trust the hand. What
tools do you ink with? I have been using dip-pen and
recently moved onto brush: harder to get the hang of, but
the result is very nice! These days I view fine-liners as
something to sign one's name with.

The fact it would be your artwork and your group, would in
my opinion make it 'on topic'; I'd like to see your other
art, as I'm sure many others here with an art bent probably
would.

Okay, why don't you just make it _hard_ That isn't a huge
amount of space to try and pack in detail!

Take note any doing fan art of Treska - purple, not blue.

I recall Tokes telling me at one stage - it doesn't matter
how many sheets of paper you take to make a picture -
people only see the finished product. They don't know if
you used 1 or 100.

Saw a news item last night that said ~80% of people with
diabetes have kidney damage. Until your kidneys are 90%
wrecked, you often don't even show symptoms of being sick.
The upside of the news article is that they are expecting
to have a 'cure' for Type II diabetes in the next 5 years
commercially available. Probably a bit late to help you,
but you never know - if you have to stop having to take
insulin in 'point delivery' form, it would still be a win!

Des will be worried about you - only because she cares.
I'd suggest telling her in a matter-of-fact as though you
were telling her what your plans for next week are. Tell
her whats going on, what's likely to happen and when
resolutions are planned. That way she knows what is going
on and that there is light at the end of the tunnel AND
you're working towards it.
Scrapper, Black Dragon, always having more to say at times
when there is less time to say it... >_<
