The thing is, it's difficult to judge where the fandom is at any given
moment. One of the biggest differences between the Furry Fandom and many of
the other fandoms-- Trekkies, Browncoats, Whovians, and whatever the hell
they call Star Wars fans-- is the fact that there is no central piece of
work or series that brings Furs together. There isn't a single TV show or a
series of movies that Furs can use as a benchmark or a starting off point or
a set of cultural standards. At any given time, half the Fandom hates
whatever it is that inspired the other half to come together, and the whole
thing just gets nuts at times.
