I think your best bet is to build a patch or plugin for a
popular game like WoW - save lots of reinventing the wheel.
Write an advanced character editor that you could even
on-sell to Blizzard or who ever? Then you are more likely
to get known artists to want to contribute their characters
to a well-established product as opposed to committing lots
of effort to a project that is unproven and for all we know
may not get off the ground - hundreds have done so before
you and it won't be the last...

It is a big undertaking - I have access to people who have
similar skills at your level and frequently see large
projects attempted and far below the dream being realized.
I have a friend who drew storyboards for the movie Queen of
the Damned (he made references to himself being one of the
damned...) and it is a massive undertaking.

I like your enthusiasm, but I would suggest you do a few
demonstrations and similar to gain artists' confidence in
your ability before trying to solicit.

A side issue - the only thing we know about you is what we
read online - taking care with spelling and grammar gives a
good impression; I've had spam with better spelling than
some of your posts. :-/

the moment!
