I can't say too much about AOL, but I can say Norton sucks from experience.
During the short time I was working in a computer store locally, almost
every computer that came in for a virus wipe, had Norton on it. I use the
word had roughly here, because the virus sometimes just killed it, and
sometimes it chewed it up, spat it out, and asked for seconds. I have never
been impressed with Norton, and always find that it slows the computer down
way too much, especially for us gamers. Some people swear by it, but I have
never had a reason to do anything other then swear at it.

I personally use Trend Micro's PC-cillian. Most of the pop-ups can be
disabled! It's all in there.for 2005 there is a pop-up manager in the
general options menu. If anyone wants, they can send me a personal email to
Tethas at Shaw.ca, and I will happily send them back a walkthrough on how to
set up PC-cillian. I find it fast, and the one time I did get a virus with
it on my system, it was my own damn fault. True, it is not perfect, but it
is as close to as I need to get, and I find it much better then Norton or
even AVG (however, AVG Free I personally believe would be the next best
choice)

problem. I've used other virus checkers at the same time and I've never
been infected while I've had Norton on my system/s... I'll agree with
you on the whole popping up messages thing though. as for taking ages
to scan, I'd rather have my computer take ages to do a simple check and
get everything than suddenly switch to another type of anti-virus
software and end up with a million-and- 1 viruses/trojons/ worms because
the new thing isn't updated enough.

I have AOL virus protection, as well as AOL firewall, which gets
updated regularly. Are those any good or not?

Long Tom.
