Hey all-
Sorry I haven't been online much recently. Real life has been
keeping me rather occupied. With a little luck, I'll get to tackle
my inbox tomorrow afternoon, so if anyone has written me recently and
hasn't gotten an answer, well, you'll probably get it this weekend.
Regarding the poll: basically, the question is which comic do you
want to see published FIRST. They'll both get published in book
format, but this is just an opportunity for you to say which one
you'd like to see on the shelf first.
The "By The Tail" comics feature characters who do not exist in the
same timeline/reality as the Skunk Trio. In truth, "By The Tail" was
drawn up by me when I was a senior in high school, and that was about
5 years before Skunkworks came into being. Des has since taken the
comic and its characters under her wing, and the comic has therefore
changed it's direction a bit.
The "Day in the Life" comic features many Skunkworks characters.
(I'm going from memory here, so I might be wrong; Des has a lot of
roughs for the comic, and I don't know which ones are actually going
to get completed). Aside from Des, Onika, Treska and Jim, I think
there are also appearances from Des's folks, Jim's folks, some of the
other critters from Onika's homeworld, the Skunk trio, Celeste, and I
think there's a comic with one of the Caterwaul girls in it. Des was
thinking of doing a weird crossover with the BTT crew, but I don't
know how she'll pull that one off.
While it's true that most of the topics on this group should be
about the Skunkworks crew, there must also be the inclusion of the
other characters who are on Skunked.com as well. Obviously, Des
doesn't draw the Skunkworks stuff (that's my domain!), but her stuff
should still be included, provided it's on-topic (original
characters, not her older parody work). Both of us have been a bit
busy with RL stuff, although (speaking for myself here) I still try
to get some art done when I can. And speaking of which, I should
have a new picture within the next week or 10 days to post here, so
stay chilly.
Oh, and speaking of chilly, I was mildly amused to discover I was
the only motorcyclist out on the road a couple weeks ago, when
standing temperatures were in the teens. I guess all those Harley
bad-asses (posers) weren't able to go riding, since they probably
didn't like the idea of all that protective clothing covering up
their leather chaps, vests, and bandanas. I reckon it's hard to look
tough when you're wrapped up in thermal gear. It was pretty awesome,
though, since I was riding the bobber in the snow, doing donuts and
powerslides. Ruined the back of my jacket, though, since the bobber
doesn't have much of a rear fender to speak of.
Anyway, I'll be logging on tomorrow afternoon sometime, so I'll try
to read some of the posts a bit more thoroughly and respond in kind.
Talk to you all in a few...
