Okay - enough with the personal attacks.

Not everyone can afford to purchase all of Jim's material
-even Jim would agree that he probably couldn't afford to
buy a copy of all his material! But that doesn't mean
acquiring copies illegally is okay. Many people are not
aware of which images have been deemed okay for circulation
and which have not, so requests may not be intended with
malice.

The discussion has come up many times that piracy of Jim's
work as been one of the biggest reasons for cutting back on
the availability of printed folios and similar, as it is
hurting Jim in regard to he can't use the money to support
himself doing what he loves. This means he has to spend
more time in a 'real job' and we get to see less art.

Yes, we all like to see Jim's art, even if we can't afford
it. Asking politely is not the issue, but having an
awareness of its source and being aware that not all
members have been posting as long as others and may not be
aware of various stances and opinions held by artists. It
is a little unreasonable to expect everyone to read the
entire archives!

IF you are going to ask for an 'illegal' link, ask
off-group - you won't draw flames that way. Do not demand
people send you things! Ask politely, most people are
obliging. Do not attack someone for their viewpoint!
Politely point out that what they are requesting may not be
the right thing to do with factual reasons backing up your
point. Remember it is the viewpoint that is wrong, not the
person.

This is an adult group - you need to be over 18 to join.
We would like to think you can behave as adults. Jim can
only get online a few days a week and I am only able to
maintain the group during what would be "the middle of the
night" for most of you (during breaks at work - I'm in
Australia) as I don't have internet access at home. Be
considerate, not self-righteous. Educate, not blame.

Yes, there are many links to pirated copies of Jim's
material - bringing them to Jim's attention so he can
request the appropriate course of action is a helpful
thing. Fchan has an agreement with Jim on how his work is
used, but it is generally agreed many chan boards have no
respect for anything.

I think I've ranted enough, but it appears the annual
reminder needed to be aired!
