I totally agree on that. Hey, I like to draw cartoons but I am trying to expand my options. I really enjoy drawing animals and humans sometimes. I've seen your art and it is fantastic. Um, do you have any pointers on how to become familiar with anatomy? How did you ever become so good with detail?

Beats me. I could be out on a ride when a cool picture pops into my
head. I'll usually scratch down a rough draft shortly after returning
home.
But I don't draw fur art exclusively. Anyone who draws nothing but
that will either burn themselves out or limit their possible growth in
the artistic field. It's important to expand one's knowledge and
skill, and that can often be done by broadening one's horizons in
their chosen field.
As someone mentioned on another post, drawing humans can seem more
difficult, but only because we know exactly what humans should look
like. If something isn't drawn correctly, it'll stick out like a sore
thumb. It's important to learn about and become familiar with human
anatomy. While it may not seem evident at first, a lack of
understanding of basic anatomy WILL be apparent in one's art, even if
it is cartoonish or anthropomorphic in nature.
One thing I would suggest, though, for anyone who is seeking to
improve their artwork or become more "rounded" in their influences and
style, is this: do not become another anime artist. It's all right to
use some of the anime influences in one's work, but there are so many
anime-style artists out there, and the styles look so damn similar,
that you'll end up getting lost in the shuffle. If you want to stand
out and be recognized for a unique style, anime is most certainly NOT
the way to go.
Just my two cents on the matter...
