  True. But the sentient species on the Trio's little corner of the
universe aren't necessarily direct evolutions of the four-legged
versions on our world. Case in point: there's speculation that
prinitive skunks and primitive felines may have cross-bred ages ago.
This, of course, never happened on our world, but it certainly did on
theirs (at least with the sentient versions).
