  The problem comes from having a fever, and from the white blood
cells (which are the ones that attack whatever's invading your
body). If a high fever is sustained, it will damage the new organs
and possibly cause rejection (higher than 101 degrees Fahrenheit, I
think). If the white cells get too high, that's usually an indicator
that the body is fighting off an attacker. Since the new organs
aren't part of my original factory equipment, the white cells could
mistakenly attack them and cause rejection.

  As for a time period, I really don't know. The docs are slowly
lowering my immuno med doses so the immune system can gradually climb
back up, but it'll never be permitted to be 100% again. So, as such,
I'll always have to be leery of crowds and folks who have colds.
