Thaaaaankies KitFox for pointing out (I was about to post it here
myself, but I cannot during the weeks because my net connexion is
through my work, and the yahoo groups are not permitted by its
proxy), and Jim for the comment !! ^^ ^^
As I answered to some people's comment on FA, its design is quite
heavily inspired not by Otomo's Akira or Shirow's Appleseed, but by
Aramaki's (or Yumeno's) design of the Highway Star, a superbike
appearing in Bubble Gum Crisis 4 that chases the Griffon car.
My version of the bike has been created to reach Mach 1, though in
my own story the bike was pulverized just before because of a little
imperfection on the ground (a dry slat lake).
Theorical max speed : a little above 780mph. At that speed, you take
a 90° turn in three or four miles radius minimum XD XD
Propulsion : electric rotor/stator couple in the wheels for "normal"
speeds (until 400mph), hydrogen reactor above.
Its very heavy weight (more than 1.5 tons) combined with slim shape
and little winglets theorically prevents it from taking off at that
speed... But not the pilot, who needs to be totally lying on it and
completely protected by the windshield - he/she normally wears a
special complete suit with security belts attaching on his/her back
that allows him/her only wrist movements at high speed - the wheels
are not directly actionned by the driver but electronically
enhanced - Jim knows perfectly that already at 100mph, trying to
just slightly turn the handlebars is almost totally impossible.
Of course, vision on what's going on is totally impossible, hence
all the radar cameras and tubes here and there. I just realized I
forgot to include the enormous and powerful airbrakes that, fully
deployed, triple the bikes' surface when you look at it from front !!
As you see, I already thought about that bike since long, it's been
more than 15 years already and I even want to fullscratch one model
kit. Someday, perhaps... :3 :3
