As a part-time pirate myself, let me make something clear:
paper is just as vulnerable to a scanner, as CD-ROMs are to copy/paste.
Also, when you actually look at it, people who would be pirating your
work would also be the people who wouldn't buy it if the "for free"
download was unavailable.
So, piracy should NOT be the thing warding you off from the CDs.
Alternately, you could look into doing something like: "Click 50 ads,
and I'll ship you a CD", where people can still support you, even if
they don't have spare cash themselves.
