I miss that comic.
Steve Gallacci (ages back, when he was drawing/publishing Albedo, one
of the first real hard SF takes on the furry genre, incorporated a
base-8 numbering system for just that reason. When they found an old
human spaceship, they marveled at the 5-fingered hands and a 10-digit
keypad.
Good luck finding the old issues anymore, it took me ages to find them
all. If you can, though, they were compiled in a four volume
collection called "Command Review", i think.
