For me, AC was more or less the local con as I live in Philly I wasn't that much of a sci-fi geek to go to Philcon and half the time Wizard World East hasn't been that great for me. But AC 2001 was so much fun that I keep coming back.

I'll admit, I'm still pretty new to the con-scene in furrydom, though I'd been to MANY Sci-Fi cons back in the NYC / Long Island area (and one pitiful one here in Buffalo). I was convinced by Verm (Vermilion Violator) to go to AnthroCon in 2007 because... and he was right, I needed a break from being Widower / Single Dad.

It was my first FurCon, first con of any kind in 10 years... and I never realized how many friends I hadn't yet met up to that point. I had such an amazing time I forgot to eat and drink... it was a great experience for me - your milage may vary, of course.

If you DO go to a con, I hope your experience turns out to be as fun as mine was. (I have some pics up at Flickr ( http://www.flickr. com/photos/ shujintribble/ sets/72157600842 908882/ )... and have fun looking!

yeah... I 1) just got into this stuff and don't know if

I'd feel comfortable going or not, and 2) am on the west

coast, so I can't make it out there anyway.
