Back in the mid 70's, the Klingons dressed up like the Old Series Klingons.
(I went to the 1976 Chicago convention, what a madhouse!)

Nowadays, besides having the "bug glued on the head" Klingons, there are lots of Bajorans, and especially *the Borg.*

What I'd like to see is 3 girls dressed up like the Skunkworks Girls.

There is a person dressed terrificly, like Zig Zig.

Then she best stay away from Star Trek and Star Wars
  conventions/fans.

Some fans get married dressed up as Klingons speaking
Klingonese no less.(It's an actual language now. Sorry,
no Vulcanian as far as I know.)

Some, I believe, live as "Klingons" all year around.

Now that's taking a genre to the nth degree!
