Your 1990-2000 work is some of my absolute favorites.? To my mind, it would be nearly impossible for you to top pics like "No Deposit, No Return", the "Snapshots" and "Student Driver" 'pholios, "Des Natural", the "4000 Members" pic, the "Caterwal vs. whoever-they-were" series (which is slightly more recent), and so forth.?
I imagine that I'll still be around long after you reveal your new style, even if I prefer an older iteration of your works.? For one thing, I know I would be seeing a quality product, and past experience has shown that you draw the sorts of things I like, sexually as well as humorously.?
It's not unlikely that some people could start shying away if the new style doesn't meet with their approval; but if for whatever reason, the pics no longer provide them with what they want, isn't it only natural to look elsewhere?? You'd more then likely have a lot more fans if you drew male-on-male regularly, but since you don't, they've gone elsewhere (or they watch because there's something else they like beyond that).?
As a side note, I have to admit that I'm one of the freaks who really liked Des' parody stuff...? I'd love to see more of them, even though pics like "Nice Shot" make me feel like a colossal pervert for liking them so much...

As for the "pasture", I think it's a continuous uphill battle. I know I lost some fans when I started drawing stuff a little more realistically back in the very late 1990's-early 2000's. I was concerned more folks would jump ship when I came out with the new style. Hopefully, once I post the next picture of the Trio, people will like it enough to hang around a bit. It's not drawn as realistically as my first attempt at "uber-realism", but it's far more pleasant to the eye. As a treat, I thought of drawing a few "behind-the-scenes" pictures in the photo-realistic style (as a photograph), since the images folks see are supposed to be the products of the studio itself (a la artistic renderings of staged photos).

Excellent points, man. These posts are helping to clarify my understanding of the fandom, even if I do disagree with certain parts of it. Thanks!

Besides, over time (e.g. 10+ years?) what we think is "weird" will (most likely) coast towards acceptable/tolerated. I can almost hear the old man going "Sonny, back in my day I would collect pictures of anthropomorphic animal orgies" followed by "Whatever grandpa, its all about asphyxiating auto erotic inter-species bestiality now!"

I liked drawing pictures such as "No Deposit, No Return". They were more revealing than cheesecake, but not as graphic as the more hardcore stuff. I also liked drawing that character, too.
