Your right, and that's a BIG difference on what kind of character your talkin' to based off their speech and accent.
It'll tell U more about a person as opposed to what they are physically.
-It adds more to their personality as well-
And in knowing that with comics, sometimes it's harder to pick up on that when no one gives U any clues to the sound of their voice on the word bubbles; forcing U to come up with something that sounds quite "different" as opposed to their "true" voice.
I try MANY things to make the characters sound like they should, as well as in taking note of the situation they're in while speaking by going from the standard American-like voice 4 one, a rugged Aussie-type and a Classy British-tone 4 the other nationalites; and sometimes even THAT can vary by not only the tone, but of the way that they sound in saying it in their dialogue. Hardly ANY voice is ever the same tone by execution.
-They may not always hit home, but as long as U know of the character and their birthplace, it's not too hard to figure it out aside from the word bubble not providing too much help-
Anyways that's my take on it, thanks again 4 that, and I'd love to hear more; PEACE!
-OA OUT-
