Seeing as how all my relatives are from states such as Kentucky, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio and even Indiana, I'm pretty used to hearing different Southern dialects whenever there's a family gathering (most which I do not attend unless a relative has kicked the bucket). I've always thought of the Georgian accent, the _proper_ Georgian accent, as the aristocratic cousin of southern dialects.
My own accent has returned a bit since I've moved from Florida and once again surrounded myself with country people. But it's not the heavy "my mom and dad are really brother and sister", "hey Skeeter, let's us go tip some cows Hyuk!" sort of accent. Thankfully.
