It took me a second to get which story you were referring to when I first read the blurb. Nifty intro there; are you sure you don't work for the movie industry? ;) Nice write-up!
Penance isn't a murderer...in her place of origin. But, given a physical body, she is actually living out her punishment from a higher being. I'd like to explain the whole thing, but I'm afraid if I do that, some dimwit might take the character's info and backstory, copy it verbatim, and add it to their own Lion-King based character with tribal tattoos, piercings, goth make-up, and lackluster lifestyle centering around video games, college dorms, and severe bi-polar disorders.
So I'll have to keep you in suspense for awhile. But I'll post a comic page showing Penance in action very soon...
