Funny you would mention that. Y'see, there is a real and tangible
difference involved: in people who hear voices, schizophrenics and
other mentally ill persons almost exclusively hear negative things,
from personal insults to commands to kill others. The people who hear
everything else tend to have repeatable experiences which can be
validated through blind tests by others with similar receptivity.
Also, guidance from said voices and intuitions tends to have positive
outcomes, whether it be a deepening of personal faith (which is then
vital to that person's emotional health later on) or avoiding a
restaurant where the cook sneezed in the soup.

It's finding those others who are both receptive and healthy which is
the hard part. It's not like they stand out in a crowd.
