Well, I've already told you that I make my characters with a bit of personality added to them. I didn't mention this, though. I seem to shock other artists in many ways when I tell them how many I have... I've been known to make like 500 or so characters just for a single comic. In fact, my current biggest comic series holds 520+ characters, and that's just an estimation.
But there is one thing that James and I talked about once that seems we have in common. We tend to skip the symmetric shape phase of drawing. He usually starts on the nose of the character, where I usually start on the eye. I'll sometimes start on another thing first depending on the character's planned pose or situation.

Same here, mann.
J adds his own Flavor to the cast in MANY ways; plus, he shows the characters 4
what they REALLY ARE as animals that are naturally gifted instead of just a
tacked on feature, inside and out.
-No offense to the other anthro artists and such-
He takes the concept of writing and drawing an anthro character to a level that
is HIS own making.
-Very FEW artists and writers commit to that arc the way he does with his cast-
I'm very honored and proud to look at what he and others do with Anthro Art and
just Art in general, mann; it's ALWAYS a pleasure to look at.
BTW, anyone else care to take a stab on it, aside from JMH; there's more out
there?
