Well, most of the characters in the comic are supporting cast. I do have a text document that lists all the characters and includes their stats as the list is too long and still incomplete. But it lists things like their fur/feather/scales color whatever it maybe, their hair color, their eye color, bust, waist, and hips measurements, their birthdate and birthplace, their species, occupation, relationship and family, and extra noted needed for them. The first thing I have listed before their name is their list number preceded by if they're a PC or NPC character. In the notes, if they don't belong to me I list who they belong to.
Their appearance is always done first, though, as when I make a character, the first thing that's done is they're drawn.

In order for a character to stand out, one has to know the DEFINITION of the
character that is portrayed is the story by.
-Bio
-Appearance
-Strengths and Weaknesses
-And the Overall reason(s) 4 why they are in said story aside from the obivious.
Make it what U will, if a character is GOOD; the fans will know no matter what
part they play, big or small.
U based some good examples of keeping character with your cast, mann; it'll go
along way in helping your characters come "ALIVE".
But what other sort of characters, yours or anyone elses, REALLY help play an
important part in a story; Main cast or Supporting cast?
