It is said that for some the whiskers are used to 'feel' their way around at night if they're nocturnal or have bad eyesight like rats and mice for instance.  Maybe in the trio's world those species no longer require the use of their whiskers as intended and as said maybe shaved them as a fashion statement.  
    I think I prefer whiskers to be as promenent or as inconspicuous as ictated by the species.

Yeah. I would imagine there are some critters who may have them removed (for a sleeker appearance, perhaps?), but for the most part, I'll keep the whiskers thin and fairly unobtrusive. On some characters, they'll probably be so light they may not even show up.

Lizards would look weird with whiskers. Very, very weird.
