No, I don't think they'd bother with so many of the pointless things that our species seems to concern itself with. Maybe _we_ are the ones who need to catch up? ;)

Oh, yeah, it's just a quick pencil sketch. I think I spent about 20-30 minutes on the whole thing, if that. Some of the details and stuff I do with my mainstream artwork will be incorporated into my anthro stuff, which is also part of the reason why the style has changed so much.
I really want to use the different species' natural forms to express their emotions. Whereas humans use mostly facial expressions, these critters would have tails, body language, ears, facial expressions, and whiskers, which could all be used to convey their emotional state. It'll be more fun to use their "alien" attributes to try to recreate human emotions, rather than just have them use the typical human expressions. And no, I'm not going to draw that stupid anime shit with the big drop of water next to the head, or the plus sign on the temple, or any other example where an action or emotion has to be written down next to the picture because the drawing itself doesn't convey the emotion desired.

The inked version is much smoother and silkier looking. Nowhere near as ragged as the sketches.

Just bought another pack of them 2 days ago. Going through those things faster than Ivory goes through her "customers". Which reminds me, I need to get that damn site updated! Keep forgetting to do that...

Not really, no. It's too limiting. It's sorta like the modern day Hanna-Barbera. I cannot fathom the attraction to it, other than it's simplicity to draw and uncanny resemblance to so many other anime-styled things. I honestly can't tell them apart. But then, I'm just old-fashioned. What do I know?
