Personally, when I make a character they all have some form of uniqueness about them. Bios aren't really necessary immediately when you have a large cast. Most important thing is their image, name, personality, and occupation.
By that, I can easily make a well performing comic.
By the way, I know it's just your opinion, but saying that I have a long way to go doesn't seem to be at all accurate. How do you know that other artists even have bios with their characters? For one thing a full out bio is a part of full character development and full character development is the result of one thing, time.

U got a good way to go about getting your cast together, mann.
-Especially when it comes to grouping your characters together, bio-wise and
creation wise-
It helps in giving everyone their share of personality and face time 4 your
Art/Stories.
Though, out of all your cast members, bro; who is your stand-out cast.
Main characters or Not?
-Just a thought-
