The work I had in the Genus books was mostly humorous comics featuring the skunk trio, with a few pin-ups thrown in from time to time. I don't draw the "funny" comics much anymore (aside from helping with "By The Tail" on occasion); I've been focusing on the more realistic, serious side of the characters. I feel it's the best way to really get to know them, since the Genus comics were primarily joke material.

Caterwaul was first published back in 1996, and there were only 4 issues produced. The newest incarnation features rewritten stories with a focus on realism. Gone are the cartoonish features and light-hearted humor. That's not to say there isn't humor in the stories; it's just a more realistic approach. The Caterwaul stories take place in the same world as the Skunkworks stuff, so from time to time, the skunks do appear in the comics. The first story, and especially the third story (of the new version) feature the trio and their mom. In fact, Valencia as the one who discovered Onika!
