Many interesting articles coming into the media recently, particularly after the 'female' sprinter (Caster Semenya) was found to be a little more than just female (intersex - mostly one gender but with bias towards the other). I suspect disliking hermaphrodites is a largely xenophobic reaction - it is outside what we are used to. When I first encountered chakats, it was a very much "Nope, no way..." reaction. They were very different (both sexes AND taurs - no way...) and I didn't like having my "little universal views" disturbed. It felt uncomfortable being outside my zone, so I didn't like them.

Slowly learning more about chakats, I have found that being an engineered species, that actually have a balanced and managed attitude towards their dual sexuality (actually hermaphrodite with both genders as opposed to intersex), that the taur form, although 'uncommon' is quite practical and helpful for the exploration style tasks they were initially intended and their overall physiology being tough and intended to be durable, mentally balanced and capable of dealing with all sorts of stresses makes sense. Subsequently I don't mind chakats and have a respect for their abilities.

If you're after 'pure titillation' (aka 'whacking material'), then they may not float your boat; maybe they do? This comes down to our attitudes towards furries, aliens and ourselves - what do we actually expect? Are furries just 'sex slaves'? Is that what we're hoping for? As I said to a friend who was having no luck with girls "Just because they are a different species, doesn't mean they won't have the same issues with you that human girls do..."

Let's look at someone like Khetzel - okay, she's a big girl, who appeals to some, but she is not a sexual character, as JMH outlined. How would you interact with her? Big, potentially dangerous, giving you an 'eyeful' of her curves, totally different set of values and social structures that we are used to. There is a fair chance you may not like her initially as she is not behaving in a way you expect (or like).

It would be interesting to see how we would go, if we were dropped into their world. Let's assume we were stuck in human form, they had seen humans before and didn't try to exterminate us; ie, safe for the immediate. I am guessing that it would be a huge learning curve - like the first time overseas to a country where you don't speak the language, plus all the strangeness of different species. It would be a real eye-opener!

Thinking of insights to Jim's worlds; I wonder if the secret site will be released, or whether its material will just appear on the regular site? Or has it been backburnered for another decade? ;-)

Scrapper, Black Dragon, travel broadens the mind, but there is a lot of travelling to be done!
