Nah. You can keep the AK's. Never cared for them. Granted, they are tough and reliable, but I will stick with my HK. Bit on the hefty side, but I have found it accurate, reliable and being chambered for 7.62mm...well, that's stopping power!

After being in the millitary for about four years, I learned to despise the M-16. It's a finicky, fragile piece of equipment that I would not want my life to depend on.
The M-4 series corrected a lot of the mechanical issues, but if push came to shove, I'd rather have it's arch nemesis, the AK-47. I've owned an Egyptian Maadi (AK-47 clone) for quite a few years and personal experience speaks louder then anything else.
There are trade offs in each case, but for me, reliability, ease of maintenance and "stopping power" are paramount in a combat situation. AKs are also much more fun to shoot. :-)

Well...the rod is simply a big stick. From that, I will let others add their own slant. The AR-15 is a 5.56mm semiautomatic version of the the military M-16 rifle. It works. Very, very well. And I can certainly empathize with the preference for a revolver. Simple. Works well, and doesn't often jam. In a pinch, go with what you know!
But then again, as a blade maker, I really prefer sharp steel. Not much good in a gun fight, but the intimidation factor is out of this world! :D

That "AR-15" sounds like either an automatic or a semi-auto (or perhaps a machine gun). I don't know too much about guns, aside from how to shoot them and keep them clean. Personally, I prefer revolvers (yep, I'm old-fashioned) .
And I REALLY don't think I want to know what "rod" is in this case. Especially in this fandom. ;P
