My friend wasn't hurt badly, well, except for his ego. As for the .454, even with contoured rubber grips it has some hella kick. It's one of the reasons that I prefer magazine fed semiautos. That and after the military, I want ammo capacity. Though a good revolver should never be underestimated. I use a hammerless SP101 chambered for .357 as a back-up. And I can tell you that after 24 years of shooting I will never use hardwood grips ever again. I am and will ever be a firm believer in pachmayr!

There is no such thing as a dream that you cannot obtain.
You may have to work for it, however.

Haha! I bet that was funny. He wasn't hurt too badly, I assume?

Never tried a .454. I have an old .38 Special long nose revolver, and a .45 revolver. I live in an open-carry state, so there's certainly no issues with that. I've blown through 200 rounds in one setting at the range with the .45, and I've never had any pain. Does that .454 have a hard grip? Those suck.
