Agreed. Who are we to judge? There will always be a radical fringe to anything, be it politics, science, art, what have you. You should hear some of the requests I get regarding swords, such as forging them with a person's own blood. Creepy to say the least. In the end it is ourselves that we have to be true to, likes and dislikes, but at the same time try not to foist our views and opinions on others.
I like Jim's work. I like a lot of other people's art as well. It doesn't matter if it's the mudane or the erotic. I like seeing how they use coloration, lighting, angle, etc. It helps me with my own drawing (though it will never be what I call 'good') and how I can use it with my job. But I also respect them for drawing the line at certain things, which only adds to the appeal of their work overall. It would be easy for Jim and others to cowtow to a lot of the requests for things that they don't agree with and get paid more for it, but they hold fast to personal ethics and stick to their guns on what they will and will not draw and that makes me respect them. And, I like this group where things like this can be discussed in a sane and calm manner. It's good that not only does Jim share his work with us, but he is willing to join the discussions and interact with those that appreciate his work. Maybe the day will come when Des will rejoin us, but I
 understand her leaving.
Don't let the fringe wierdos get to you. Take 'em or leave 'm as you see fit, and don't let them detract from your enjoyment of the things that you like. Essentially, don't let them win.
Sorry for being long winded tonight. I have a custom project coming up and I always tend to get introspective when that happens and it bleeds over into everything else.

Now it's nothing but video-game-playing- bi-curious- college-roomates -fucking- pokemon-while- having-emotional -outbursts bullshit. I don't want to be associated with any of that crap, and that's why I think I'm changing my work. Guilty by association and all that (something I want to avoid).

Look around; you'll find some decent folks who aren't nutjobs and still retain a pretty good grip on reality. They just tend to stick to the shadows these days and likely aren't as vocal as the screaming mimis are.

I like to think of myself as un-shadowed. Old-timer, yes very much. But un-shadowed. And, whenever possible, un-predjudiced. It's a big, weird, beautiful world. Whom I to judge?
