That's okay. It's a good song, and I dig Steppenwolf.

The reason for the change in style is mostly because I'm changing the direction I'm taking my work. The portfolios and prints are meant to be viewed as products of the Skunkworks studio, hence why they appear cartoon-y or whatever. But since I'm focusing my attention on the Caterwaul stuff, which includes the real-world versions of the Skunkworks crew et al, it's important that I draw them more realistically.

Their world is not the same as ours, and that will become evident when the books come out. Rather than give it the old "human society with animal heads" treatment, I'm tackling the whole thing as science-fiction, with a definite nod to alien worlds and alien societies. In fact, when I did the "time table" for their world, I went back a few million years to include the most pivotal history points, events which I felt led up to their current society. Their world has a few similarities to ours, but not many.

In short, I want to introduce readers to the actual characters themselves, not their publicity personas. Think of it as a movie star or singer. They appear one way to their fans/customers, and they appear another way once you actually meet the person behind the facade.
