Man, the potential for jokes with that title is nearly endless. Anyway...
Okay, I thought I'd do a quick run-down of what's going on, as well as what's on the agenda coming up.
Firstly, I will be working with the Jab Archive's Jim on the Cat's N' Cameras comic, and will start handling the artwork portion of the strip later in August. For those of you fearing the comic might start resembling the graphic Skunkworks comics of yesteryear, fear not! I'm not really drawing porn much these days, but CnC is "softcore" enough for me to tackle without altering it. Besides, I'm just drawing it; I'm not the writer!
I've uploaded some of the character sketches in my FA gallery if you want to check 'em out (they aren't Skunkworks characters, so they won't appear here). I'm trying to keep the characters similar to previous versions of them, though I did alter the faces a bit to allow for better expressions.
Secondly, I was successful at sealing the deal with the author of the kid's books. The guy is talking about producing 7 books, and after several meetings and discussions, I ended up drafting a few renditions of cast characters for him. I'll be meeting the guy tomorrow afternoon to show him the sketches and make whatever changes are necessary.
Thirdly, I will be sending out the first CD collection to Second Ed later this week. There are a few packages that will be going out as well at that time.
Fourthly (is that even a word?) I will be showing up at MFM2010, but not until Sunday afternoon (I'm not really attending the con, per se). I'm entertaining the idea of sending some of the Volume One CDs to Jim from the Jab Archives for him to sell at the show; if I get the time this next month, I'll try to complete the second volume and bring some of those too. But don't hold your breath on number two showing up so soon.
Fifthly (now it just sounds funny), I still need to scan Caterwaul and do all the text and such. I will be working on that for most of August and will submit the first issue to AVP after I have either a few pages of issue 2 completed, or the entire issue two rough draft done. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. But this spacing will allow me a little breathing room since my schedule is actually pretty fucking packed right now. It'll also prevent me from running into problems with getting the book done every 4 months!
Finally, I will put some stuff up on both Furbuy and Furbid tomorrow night. I'll post links here, on the website, and on my FA page. I still have some originals left that I wouldn't mind selling off, so if any of them catch your fancy, be sure to check 'em out!
That's about from here. The stent replacement surgery went well, I was doped up on some Ciprofloxacin that I apparently had some weird reaction to (either that, or the stuff they used to knock me out fucked me up for a couple days afterwards). I'll be good for 6 more months as far as that's concerned, though additional lab work will have to be done in a few weeks. I've also got to go to the eye doctor on the 28th of July for my regular check-up. Hopefully, all is still quiet in Retina-land. Not too keen on getting more laser done.
