The script tells me about specific instances and objects, such as: "Manila comes downstairs, maybe carrying laundry or something, and walks through a hallway. She picks up a frmaed photo of her, Sari, Jim and Jo from a few years earlier and smiles to herself. She then looks up at herself in the mirror and presses against her cheek as if looking for signs of aging." That's not the actual script, per se, but it's a close approximation.

As the artist, I can add detail and help "flesh out" the environment, as well as determine the best way to deliver the mood and pacing of the comic. That's mostly why I strayed from the older 4-panel format. For some scenes, it's necessary to build up tension or to elaborate on an environment, and that usually requires additional frames.
