Their world has a higher female-to-male ratio than ours. It's a little over 2:1.
There ARE male main characters in the series; (Caterwaul Red, for example, has 3 males), Detective Franklin Stone is definitely male, and several of the "behind the scenes" members of Caterwaul are male as well.
