Re: [SkunkworksAMA] Re: Question for Jim
Speaking with Paul Kidd (author), who has hung out with Mitch on many occasions, it seems Mitch is a bit of a target for jokes, of all types.
A silly pun that came to mind the other day; those who are a fan of the Jaguar automobile will know of the 'leaper' - the leaping Jaguar bonnet (hood) mascot. I recently purchased an original leaper (most available for sale are copies) mounted on a block of polished onyx stone. Thinking about the pose of the leaper also lends thoughts to "Leaper on Onyx" - sort of thing I could imagine David Siegl drawing...

It was sort of a pun. Mitch had lived in a place called "Onyx" for awhile, but was moving out to another town/city around the time that picture was drawn. It was signifying he was leaving Onyx, although in reality it was the town, and not the individual.
