Yah, caught the typo after I hit send, but the favorites link has always
been right.

Flushing DNS did not work, and I was about to change to 4.2.2.1, til I
looked and saw I already had done that ages ago (so I couldn't blame my
ISP).

Hosts file is obscure for most, but keeping an eye on that file is one way
to be sure you haven't been hit with some of the google highjackers out
there.

Alternatively, ipconfig /flushdns and then don't type an "n" inside "cats"
to make it "www.cantsncameras.com" like you did below when trying to go to
the site and you don't have to make modifications to an obscure Windows file
that requires reducing the security on Windows 6.0 and above and will bite
you in the tail should the IP change in the future and then obviously it
will work because as you can see, the DNS servers in question knew the
correct answer, thus only putting a faulty DNS cache in the way.

Eg., the DNS flush and DNS settings would be sufficient without the hosts
modification.

That run-on sentence brought to you by an extra letter N in the domain. ;)

You are absolutely correct. Putting in http://aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd will not work
on any multi-home server as that server needs to know the name of the site
you are trying to get so it will know what site to show you.

If it is a DNS issue, knowing the IP can help. You would add the
appropriate entry in your hosts file, then use the name and that should
work.

I can't view the site at all.

However, after doing an NSLOOKUP to get the IP Address, then editing my
hosts file, I can view the site.

Here is some interesting test results:

C:\Users\Rhudi>nslookup www.cantsncameras.com

Server: vnsc-pri.sys.gtei.net

Address: 4.2.2.1

*** vnsc-pri.sys.gtei.net can't find www.cantsncameras.com: Non-existent

C:\Users\Rhudi>nslookup

Here is what I added:

67.213.223.162 catsncameras.com

You're assuming the average person knows how to get that, or that it would
help. Putting in http://ipaddress/cnc will not work because it's a vhost on
the server.

People who can actually -do- anything with the IP know how to get it.

For example, the GTEI NS finds it just fine. So a DNS cache flush and
resetting your DNS servers to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 will get you there with no
problem. Also, notably, if you do not know how to do that, already, trying
to do it based on any directions anybody here could give you could result in
a complete loss of network connectivity, which would suck.

I haven't had any trouble, but I wish that someone would just give up the IP
