With the type of role-playing we do, there was a serious need to level the playing field for everybody involved. We had furs and humans that claimed to have extra-normal abilities and the result was pure chaos. So we invented a 'dampening field' that would balance out all character abilities, natural and extraordinary, so that we wouldn't have any supering, and characters from different realities could safely compete with each other.
In a way, it's a little bit like those Larry Niven "Flight of the Horse" time travel stories where the time traveler protagonist physically adapts to the reality whichever alternate time stream he's in.

Treska's strength, speed and pre-cog ability are entirely natural; all the people of her species have it. Can you explain more?

It came about after a match when a wolf wanted to throw antimatter at a vixen who had a deflector shield. I've always wanted to write about it, and Onika and Treska would be perfect candidates to illustrate how it works.
