Glad you liked it! It's a bit difficult to squeeze much detail into the panels (they appear twice their actual size online), but the item Allen is holding in panel one is indeed a fork; it just has food scooped onto it! (If you look closely you can just make out part of one of the tines).
The Penance story is currently being written in longhand. After it's finished, there are 4-5 different folks who are going to read it and let me know their opinions (as well as any mistakes or uncertainties). After that (probably sometime in mid-late June) I should be able to begin working on the artwork for the actual book. It will likely be drawn in a way that will allow it to either be one large book or three individual issues (much like Caterwaul is being drawn).
The story will cover everything from her past, including her crime and punishment, as well as numerous key situations that cause her to alter her perspective on things. It will finish up with her confronting the Elders, fighting them, and... You'll have to read it once it's out, I reckon. ;)
