Naylor has never drawn what folks would call proper feet
and hands. It can be considered just Naylor's style of
cartooning.
Improper anatomy can be a problem, unless, that is the
style you want in your cartoon, ie, Peanuts. (Charlie Brown
body anatomy anyone?.)
What doesn't work well most of the time, (and is darn hard
to pull off), is a mixture of proper and improper anatomy of
a character in a consistent manner which will be accepted
by the viewing audience.
[Some characters look like they've gone thru a malfunctioning
Star Trek transporter. "Thankfully, Whatever it was didn't live
very long and was erased."]
Some artist find a "quality" niche and stay put while others
expand their artwork like James. (I agree with TS.)
But good art is in the eye of the beholder,
.
.
.
and so is bad art! :P
