IF life exist on ANY other planet it would be SO unlike ANYTHING on earth that it would simply be VERY deadly to us and visa verse, as it may not even be based on carbon like us but rather on "silicon"... See the movie "Apollo 13" for an example of what we CAN imagine and it may be stuff we CAN'T even imagine!!! I have read examples of intelegent life that is made of simple componets that gather together to make a single (or group) of integelent being(s) and I have also read of creatures that cover an entire planet (including ours) like mother earth that cant directly interact with "US" but CAN interact with many of the life forms around us (see movie by M. Night Shyamalan "The Happening") & at least 1 episode of Star Trek TNG ALONG with the ST movie where they travel back in time to get a grey whale!!! & there are MANY other examples!!! & if you do your research NASA (& other space agencies) SUPER clean our earth based life from ANYTHING we send up that
we can and when astronauts come back they are ISOLATED from EVERYTHING until they can be cleared as clean of any space based bugs (also see movie/book "The Andromeda Strain") in that one simple oxygen was able to kill the bug BUT energy (like a thermonuclear device) caused it to SUPER multiply! & they were not notified fast enough by a simple paper jam in the bell that would alert them!!! (Good movie by the way recommend you rent that one and check it out!) So think would another planet HAVE to be fury? or could it ALSO have little to no fur (see OCEAN based life as well!!!)
Count your life by smiles, not tears;
Count your age by friends, not years.

>All of that talk about furries and multi-species worlds got me thinking. If you really think about it humans won the evolution lottery big time. Of all of the creatures that could have evolved intelligence a creature got it that doesn't have either fur or a muzzle. That didn't have to be the case. Now consider that intelligent life has probably evolved on worlds throughout our galaxy. Are they going to look more like us or more like earth's other animals? I bet a quarter that if earth is ever invited to meet with representatives from a galaxy government (if one actually exists) that there will be grins on the faces of the furry fans and shock on the faces of everybody else. What if none of those representatives look like humans? Oh the disappointment! Imagine how people would feel if they had to face the simple fact that humans are not the model for all intelligent life in the universe. I'd love to see that so bad that I can taste it. :)
