No matter how advanced technology gets the inner nature of people remains the same in it potentials. As civilization advances 'culturally' people in societies get better at managing their nature. Sometimes that involves making compromises that allow the darker nature to be expressed in certain agreed upon circumstances. I can see that.
But species of people can be different. In human cultures jealousy keeps couples monogamous. That's a human trait. (I know. There aren't any humans there. I'm just using humans as a familiar example :) ). But in a harem species there might be support systems within the nature of some species that would cause them to favor forming harems and it would make them enjoy the lifestyle.
My point in that statement is that while you can have many things similar in the nature across almost all species of people on a morph planet it might also be true that there will be outstanding differences in the nature of some species as opposed to others. They will simply 'need' different things. That might complicate relationships in interesting ways. People would sometimes differ from their peers in their own species in what they think they like but not everyone can ignore their nature even when they really want to. A female in a monogamous species might want to join a harem to be with her girlfriends and have sex with their hot male. But once in the harem she might discover that she'd have to fight an on-going battle with her natural jealousy to make it work. Her harem mate girlfriends would only understand her problem intellectually. Conversely, a female from a harem species might marry a male from a monogamous species then find that she feels alone and incomplete because she doesn't have any harem mates. She could chose to live with those feelings because she loves her husband but she would never be free of them. I'd love to watch the soap opras on such a world. :)
