If it is of any small consolation, I went to the dentist this morning for what the dentist thought was going to be a replacement for a broken crown and maybe a re-do of three root canals on the tooth bed under it. But when the broken crown was remove the tooth bed was split in half diagonally. There's not much you can do with that situation. He extracted the tooth and filled the socket with a bone graft. I have mixed emotions about that. :) Replacing the crown and re-doing the the root canals would have cost me $1080. But the extraction with the bone graft to fill the socket only cost a little over $400.
My individual health insurance with Blue Cross became active on April the first of this month. But Blue Cross won't give me dental insurance until April 1, 2015. When April 2015 gets here I'm going to get a post and a crown. At least my tooth doesn't hurt anymore. Well? The socket hurt for half a day. The hydrocodone helped me through that. Now the pain is gone and I have I have 15 pills left in the bottle. :) And I have a bottle of amoxicillin to take to make sure that ALL of the infection is removed from the area of the extraction. I lost the tooth but it was worth it!
