Hello to all
When I heard that James had passed away, I was stunned. For a moment I did not know what to do, until the urge to talk to someone overwhelmed me. I spoke to my mother, and she too was quite taken aback.
It was then I realized just how much of an impact James has had on me. Despite of having only exchanged a scarce few impersonal messages with him, he became something of a household name in my family. I’m currently a comic artist in training, living the dream so to speak, and owe it in no small part to James Hardiman. But only now do I realize how often I followed James example in his approach not only in art, but life as an artist.
He was, as we all agree, an amazing artist and a wonderful humorist. But what has really stuck with me what his relentless pursuit of improvement. His ambition, his firm belief in his ability to surpass himself, will forever serve as an example to me as not only an artist but as human being.
My thoughts turn now to the future of this group. I like to believe that it meant something to James Hardiman, judging by his fairly frequent presence here. It certainly means something to me, this being my very real entrance point into the world of furry art. I would be endlessly saddened should it be brought down. It will obviously not be the same, but until such times that his fans either disperse or find another way to organize, it still serves a purpose.
James Hardiman – You’ll be forever unequable, but you gave me the audacity to try.
Yours humbly
Alfredo "Warhound" Parada
