>Description : James inspired me, not only in his artwork and talents, but also who he was as an artist and as a person. I remember meeting him for the first time at Confurence 10. He not only amazed me by how kind and sincere he was, but he also wrote me a letter - an actual letter! - and mailed his thanks to me. I still have it to this day, and he influence me on how I treat my fans and friends, with respect and thoughtfulness. I only met him once, but he's influenced my life.

It can be seen in your artwork you like to try and follow JMH's lead for putting detail into your drawing. Pity about not making the cut for the book, but you were up against some tough competition- plus your artwork has probably moved on heaps since 2002 when the Natasha picture was done!
And isn't it wonderful when you find positive, succesful people how being around these people, those attitudes can rub-off and make you see things totally differently? The trick is continuing to use those values when you are not in there presence, that is the hard part...
As I've mentioned many times, Jim inspired me to try drawing, which then lead to meeting all sorts of interesting people, who I would not have otherwise been involved. I wish I would treat others with more respect, as I am frequently a victim of my own thoughtlessness; it is easy to seem intelligent and witty on email when you have had hours to respond.
