Thanx for the answer Jim. One of the things about your universe is
that a lot was left unsaid and as long as you could fill us in on the
details of how you define your universe we can get a clearer picture.
I tried to limit some of my arguments about my theory to keep it short
(the main intent was for you to fill me/us in on the gray areas).
Altough you specified about humans being extinct you seemed less firm
about them having being slaughtered by the anthros.
One thing I would tend to disagree with would be your assumption that
man would be no match for an athro. Put on equal footing in cognitive
abilities you have still to take into consideration that primitive
man was closer to a wild animal than we might presume. The bone
structure was twice as thick, muscle attachment point was close to
that of a gorilla, we could swim and (as some pointed out) long-
distance running (migratory) ability.
For a good example of that I would refer to you the opening scene of
the "X-file" movie. A neanderthal, after supposedly miles of
run/tracking, probably chasing a thing that killed people in his
tribe, sees his buddy killed by an alien monster, does'nt give a shit
and kicks the crap out of the hulking (and well-clawed) monster. I
could alomost hear the primitive toughts: "Bifteck, rib roast, leg
and your head will decorate my hut"
Still you raised one good point that would completely crush mankind's
evolutionary opportunity. If they went on the path of blind
discrimination they would have had the crap kicked out of them.
Anything would have. Mainly because of the immense variety of anthro
species. Man could never hope to contain the vast diversity of
anthropomorphs because he would just have been on sentient specie
among (as I've seen in your world) probably thousands of others.
Well that's about it for my two cents. I'm sorry to say I have maybe
too much faith in human nature and I would believe our ancestors to
be much more wiser than us. But then again it's your world and if you
think they would have shot themselves in the foot by trying to go
against all other sentient animals your have more than enough reasons
to come to that conclusion (its called history).
Still I think humans could have gone with a bang (gang-bang that is).

PS Got your portefolio! It's great, I love it. Thanx a jillion. My
fav would still be the waitress on the cover. There is so much you
can see in those eyes. Her fur of fire just exudes passion. (actually
my dream commissions would probably be of the things I Imagine her
doing. Including one where that kitty is sandwiched between two
smaller mouse guys. I'd call that: "Mousetrap". Whaddaya think?
