Hi Mr. Hardiman --
Heard about your problems. Is there a specific medical term for
what's happening to your eyes? It sounds a lot like macular
degeneration of some type but someone else suggested it was
diabetic retinopathy. Do you know specifically? If you don't, be
sure and find out from your doctor.
I hope that you decide to share what you find out as your
treatment progresses as it might help others, especially folks
with early symptoms.
BTW, you might want to avoid lifting ANY heavy objects as that
messes with your blood pressure which can then further screw
up the blood vessels in your eyes. I know because a relative
had their macular degeneration almost healed up and then they
went and lifted a bunch of heavy boxes and popped some of their
retinal blood vessels again (and then had to pay for another
medical procedure to fix that).
Another bit of advice. Eat lots of veggies like carrots, spinach
and broccoli (pretty much any of the orange-colored or
dark-green leafy vegetables). The vitamins in those types of
veggies will assist in your eyes' recovery and might help to
prevent further deterioration. It's not a magic bullet but it
certainly wouldn't hurt!
Good luck to you!
